AUTOLOGOUS FIBRIN SEALANT AND PLATELET RICH FIBRIN (PRF®) PREPARATION SYSTEM
Sormedica supplies Vivostat®, the world’s only in-house autologous fibrin sealant and platelet rich fibrin (PRF®) preparation system. The Vivostat® system combines a range of safe, flexible and user-friendly products that can be used in a variety of clinical procedures.
The uniqueness of Vivostat® system is an innovative patented biotechnology process that reliably prepares autologous fibrin sealant or platelet rich fibrin (PRF®) without the use of cryoprecipitation and without the use of a separate thrombin component. In addition, Vivostat® fibrin sealant does not contain bovine components and is completely aprotinin free.
The fully automated Vivostat® system consists of three components:
- Processor
The processor is used to process the patient’s blood and prepare Vivostat® fibrin sealant or Vivostat PRF® solution.
- Applicator
The applicator controls the delivery of Vivostat® solution to the site of the procedure.
- Disposable kit
The disposable kit contains all the components needed to prepare and use Vivostat® Fibrin Sealant and Vivostat PRF®. It comes with a variety of application products, each of which is optimized for different types of procedures.
For many years, medical professionals have been developing autologous fibrin sealant based on thrombin and fibrinogen. The process was complicated, it took a lot of work and it was time consuming.
With Vivostat® system, this process becomes quick and easy.
Vivostat® system provides the best possible solution in a variety of medical fields, whether surgery, transfusion center, blood bank, or other medical fields. No specially trained personnel is required to work with Vivostat® system.
Platelets and growth factors have been used for many years as an aid in tissue regeneration and bone formation stimulation, for example in neurosurgery, cardiac surgery, plastic and reconstructive surgery, orthopedic surgery, and others. The platelet solution traditionally used in these cases is supplied by a blood bank.
Currently, the medical equipment market offers a variety of simpler devices for platelet solution production based on centrifugation technology. Many products still require additional maintenance to ensure sterility, they have poor biophysical properties, and have delivery system deficiencies.
